This blend combines premium coco coir with coarse horticultural vermiculite, properly hydrated and pasteurized to field capacity. Open the bag, mix with your colonized spawn, and fruit.

Substrate Composition:

• Coco coir (primary bulk)
• Coarse vermiculite (moisture retention & structure)
• Gypsum (calcium + sulfur supplementation)
• Hydrated to field capacity

Suitable Species:

• Portobello / Cremini / Button (Agaricus bisporus)
• Wine Cap (Stropharia rugosoannulata) — as casing layer
• Almond Agaricus (Agaricus subrufescens)
• Other compost-loving varieties

Usage:

1. Break up colonized grain spawn
2. Mix spawn with substrate at 1:2 to 1:4 ratio (spawn:substrate)
3. Pack into fruiting container
4. Apply thin casing layer if desired
5. Maintain surface moisture and fresh air for fruiting

Pasteurization: Substrate is heat-pasteurized to eliminate competing organisms while preserving beneficial microbiome. This is NOT sterilized — it's optimized for species that fruit on pasteurized (not sterile) media.
