Lion's Mane Grain Spawn
Gold-standard Lion's Mane spawn for cascading, snow-white harvests.
Two ways to order:
- Made fresh to order (ships in 3–4 weeks): We inoculate your bag after you order, so it arrives fully colonized and at peak vigor instead of aging on a shelf.
- Ready to ship (ships in 1–3 days): When we have a fresh batch on hand, you can skip the wait. If it shows sold out, choose made fresh to order.
Our Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) colonized grain spawn is grown from hand-selected genetics maintained in our culture bank and produced under strict sterile protocols. Expect fast colonization, early first flushes, and the delicate, crab-like flavor Lion's Mane is prized for.
Includes WeMush tracking: Every order ships with a QR code linked to WeMush, our cultivation tracking platform. Scan it to view specimen details, log observations, and follow your grow, free with any Mush Ohio purchase.

- Product: Fully colonized grain spawn
- Weight: 1600 g (about 3.5 lb)
- Packaging: Spawn bag with 0.2-micron filter patch

Best use
This spawn is optimized for sterilized supplemented sawdust blocks. It is not intended for log inoculation or all-in-one grow kits.
Quick start
- Inspect on arrival. Check the bag for damage or contamination.
- Let it breathe. Unfold the top of the bag so the filter patch can exchange air, and keep the patch unobstructed.
- Inoculate. Break up the spawn and mix it evenly into sterilized supplemented hardwood sawdust using clean technique.
- Colonize. Keep blocks around 70–75°F (21–24°C) in the dark until fully colonized.
- Fruit. Open or slit the block, keep humidity at 90–95% and temperatures around 60–75°F (15–24°C), and harvest when spines have lengthened but before they yellow.
Storage
If not using right away, refrigerate at 35–40°F (2–4°C) and use within 1–4 weeks of receipt.
Pro tip: Pair your spawn with a solid growing reference. Radical Mycology covers sterile technique, substrate prep, and fruiting in depth.
